There have been various cases of Equine Influenza reported in the UK already this year.
Equine Influenza Clinical Signs:
Rise in body temperature
Harsh dry cough
Initial clear nasal discharge becoming more pus like over a few days
Loss of appetite
Occasional pneumonia (particularly in foals and yearlings)
The Animal Health Trust & BHA have recommended that horses should receive an Equine Influenza booster every 6 months in order to enhance herd immunity and provide the best possibility of protection.
